New Cotehardie

15th Century Costumes

I added gal­leries for some new his­tor­i­cal garb, all 15th cen­tury cloth­ing this time. The first is a red Nether­lan­dish waisted kir­tle, the sec­ond is my newest under gown, and the last is some new pho­tos of an old green kir­tle. New Historical Costumes

I added gal­leries for some new his­tor­i­cal garb I cre­ated, a silk and vel­vet Ital­ian Renais­sance gown cre­ated in 1490s style and a new cote­hardie and under kir­tle based on Miranda The Tem­pest. You can click on the thumb­nails below to see the new galleries:

Bloody Heart

Happy Valentine’s Day! To cel­e­brate, I teamed up with Mona Weiss to do this really fun bloody heart photo shoot fea­tur­ing Roman-esque gowns. We chose to go with a darker inter­pre­ta­tion of the hol­i­day this year.

Happy St. Lucia Day! To cel­e­brate one of my favorite hol­i­days, I incor­po­rated tra­di­tional ele­ments into a new gown of my own style.

Steampunk Dark Phoenix

I just added my Steam­punk Dark Phoenix cos­tume! I designed this to incor­po­rate the clas­sic ele­ments, col­ors, and atti­tude of Dark Phoenix from X-Men into a Victorian-esque fan­tasy style.

Halloween Faerie

I just added my new Hal­loween faerie cos­tume! I wanted to do some­thing cute and on-theme for Hal­loween this year. Since I wear cos­tumes all year, I thought some­thing par­tic­u­larly fes­tive would be a nice change. This was inspired by Amy Brown’s fan­tasy art. She has been one of my favorite artists since I dis­cov­ered her some 14-ish years ago.

Woodland Elf

I just added my new wood­land elf cos­tume! There are a few pho­tos here with my bow, which I use for medieval style com­bat in the SCA — since elves are such nat­ural archers, I had to include it. (:

Update — Faeries!

I added gal­leries for three new faerie cos­tumes. The first is Aure­lia the Gold Faerie, the sec­ond is a Pink Sakura Faerie, and the third is a Steam­punk Faerie, which is also fea­tured in FAE Magazine.

Update — 15th Century Bra and Panties

A new find was recently released, includ­ing a very inter­est­ing bra. The find is from Aus­tria and dates to the 15th cen­tury. I have recre­ated that bra, as well as a match­ing pair of panties.

Update — Light Blue Cotehardies and Wool Cloaks

I recently made some new his­tor­i­cal garb for my boyfriend and myself. My out­fit was inspired by Red Rid­ing Hood and made to be his­tor­i­cally accu­rate, and his was also made to match. The out­fits are early 15th cen­tury Euro­pean.

And while we’re at it, I have some updated pho­tos of my Viking garb.

New Costume Blog

I recently cre­ated a blog for my cos­tum­ing adven­tures! I am mostly using this for my his­tor­i­cal cos­tumes, though I am cer­tain you will soon find fan­tasy cos­tum­ing there as well. I’m post­ing some Dress Diary wor­thy con­tent, along with blog posts from events, and I will con­tinue to update it when­ever I have new content.
